The Circulation Verification Council (CVC) was established in May 1992 and has since become the leading audit company for media organizations, including newspapers, magazines, and niche publications. With thousands of titles and over 55,000,000 audited circulation, CVC has grown into one of the fastest-growing audit companies across North America, offering audits for both print and digital media, including websites, digital editions, social media, email media, video, and podcasts.
 

Who accepts CVC audit reports?
CVC has issued thousands of audit reports and remains the only audit company to provide data free of charge to media buyers. We don’t monetize your data but instead release it to as many potential advertisers as possible. Additionally, CVC maintains an extensive database of advertising agencies and national advertisers that work with member companies.
 

How is a CVC audit performed?
A CVC audit follows a comprehensive three-tier system of checks and balances. Companies report their print, distribution, and digital data claims to CVC each quarter. We then thoroughly review all support documents to deliver accurate and reliable audit results. When do audits take place?
Audits are conducted quarterly, with audit periods ending on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31. New CVC members can opt for an initial audit period of either six or twelve months. CVC audits are annual, and ongoing quarterly reporting is required for continuous certification.
